We interviewed several people to officiate our wedding before we met with Reverend Jennifer. From the first moment we met her she projected joy. She had a very easy temperament about her and above all was an intense listener. We had a basic idea of what we wanted at our ceremony but Revered Jennifer helped us put our thoughts and feelings into specifics. She was able to take our wishes, which were somewhat out of the norm, and bring all of the different elements we wanted to the ceremony without making the guests who were used to more traditional wedding ceremonies feel uncomfortable.
Everyone at our reception remarked how beautiful the ceremony was and how much they felt that she had truly captured our personality as a couple in it. The only negative thing I can say is that she has now moved out west so that when we decide to renew our vows here in NYC, we’ll have to fly her out for it.

Jennifer helped make our wedding everything that it could be. When planning our ceremony she seemed to know exactly what we wanted to say (what we didn't) and how we wanted the guests to feel. She put in so much time into making sure that we didn't second guess our choices. I could tell that she loves what she does and it was a blessing to have her share that with us on our special day.

If you are a couple who is looking for a beautiful, spiritually fulfilling and yet completely easy and relaxed ceremony Jennifer Hackenbruch is the perfect choice. Working with Jennifer was one of the most meaningful and important parts of our union, her services are everything a couple needs to prepare and start a new journey together. From the first meeting until we were joined together at our wedding Jennifer was there for us every step of the way. She provided us with individual and couples counseling, which allowed us to grow even closer in our relationship and gave us tools to help us after we were married. The best part is everything with Jen is comfortable and at your pace, she never pushed or rushed us. She was there for us the whole time and we never felt like we had hired a stranger but rather that we were so lucky to be sharing our story and our new beginning with a cherished friend.

Jennifer was wonderful!! She married us in 2011 and made the whole experience super easy. My now husband and I were extremely comfortable right off the get go with her. She was very professional and on top of things yet also able to have fun with it. Thanks to Jennifer our wedding was light and special ... Just what we wanted :) Corrie & Brian 2011
When Mark said "yes" after an epic yurt weekend proposal, my best man had no hesitation in suggesting we speak to Jennifer about officiating our wedding. Despite the distance, and not being able to meet in person, she immediately made us comfortable with the process, and set up regular sessions together and separate that she might get to know us. Jennifer helped us create a ceremony that fit who we were, incorporating our friends and family with our love of the outdoors. Bringing all the elements of our lives together, we celebrated our marriage in what came to be the perfect tribute to our love!

Each person and couple is unique. One-size-fits-all approaches, ceremonies, and programs do not work for me or the clients I work and create with. By working together we will develop custom ceremonies and programs tailored to you--your personal interests, your culture, your one-of-a-kind uniqueness and needs.
My family moved to the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan when I was five years old from Detroit. I spent my childhood through my 20's in the U.P. When I was ready, I attended Northern Michigan University and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Health and Fitness Management. My love for the outdoors and education led me to Missoula Montana to attend a graduate program in Health Promotion/Education and I graduated in 2001 with my Master's of Science Degree. In 2006 I moved to New York City to follow another dream of mine, to live in a big city and attend seminary. In 2008 I was ordained by the New Seminary of Interfaith Studies.
After traveling the country, some of the world, and spending the better part of 14 years in Montana, I followed my heart to Sandpoint Idaho. Where I currently reside.
I love the outdoors where I hike, mountain bike, road bike, and ski. My passions include writing, creating beautiful meals, nutrition, health, happiness, and working with people in groups and one-on-one. I am a natural coach and love working with people.
For me, it was a scary thing to stand up in front of a crowd of friends and family and share my most heartfelt and intimate thoughts and feelings. To pledge something meant to hold true and fast for the rest of our lives and to have confidence that what we were saying was sincere and genuine and personal. Jennifer worked with us each step of the way – provided the spiritual guidance, friendship, insight and support through all of the craziness of planning a wedding, to make our ceremony the most important aspect of it all. Through face-to-face meetings and emails, Jennifer helped us create a wedding ceremony that was true to the love and friendship that Jon and I share – something that we could reflect on in the difficult times and celebrate in the good times for years to come. With Jennifer’s experience, professionalism and timeless wisdom, we entered into our wedding vows with certainty, excitement and a newfound appreciation for each other. I will forever be grateful for the loving direction and assistance Jennifer provided us as we entered into this next phase of our lives together – we will be forever grateful to her for her loving and thoughtful vision and the memories she helped to create.

Reverend Jennifer did an amazing job as the officiant for our wedding. She took the time to meet with us many times to get to know us and really learn our hopes for the wedding. The ceremony that she put together was perfect for us. Very professional plus she is a genuinely great person!

When Felicia and I first met Jennifer we felt an immediate bond. She is warm, accepting and very easy to talk to. She understood us, was non-judgmental and when we got home that night, we knew that she should perform our ceremony. Through the process of getting to know us, Jennifer asked insightful questions that helped solidify why we were getting married, what it meant to each of us and what each wanted from life and a partner. Honestly, we have both been down this road before but we felt Jennifer was able to ask questions and pull stories from each of us that enabled us to grow deeper in our love and design a ceremony that best expressed what marriage meant to us and our family. Jennifer was eager to include our family in the ceremony and made helpful suggestions on how to include the kids, family and friends. It truly was a beautiful ceremony, unique to us, low stress and joyous. The wedding guests felt a part of the ceremony and expressed how wonderful and meaningful the ceremony was. We consider Jennifer a part of the family now and know you will feel the same.
